“…The very youthful Harrison Dolphin Trio had kept the audience entranced… mark and note these names, they’re worth it.”Peter Vacher, Jazzwise magazine (December 2018)
“Incredibly knowledgeable, hard core beboppers”Simon Spillett, The Jazz Rag (March 2019)
A great deal of Dolphin’s artistic direction is best presented through his trio, comprised of the relentlessly swinging and subtle acoustic bassist Lorenzo Morabito and the mesmerising propulsion and virtuosity of drummer Kai MacRae, who together produce a bebop rhythm section of quiet, fiery intensity, tightly connecting with and complementing each member’s rich improvisations across a deep repertoire.
They first met one another at the National Youth Jazz Orchestra academy, and have since gone on to perform in various settings including many engagements at the Jazz Centre UK, the Cricketer’s jazz bar, Metal Southend, Twenty-One art gallery, Club 85, Bar 48, Hedsor jazz club, as well as in restaurants and cafes in London. They have supported musicians such as Rob Luft and Tori Freestone/Alcyona Mick.
